Why is it that V - 8 bullies pay half as much for twice as many rods ?

Do they use a cheaper process to make em' ?

Or why could it be like that ?

Well, those in the link aren;t Carillo rods for one. and there is a MUCH bigger market for v8 rods. Motorcycles are not even remotely close in mumbers as car performance parts. On top of that, the market seems to support it so the prices rise.

That said, I am not sure how $1050 a set for Carillos is more affordable than ever. Maybe more affordable than when they raised prices when raw material prices skyrocketed, however, raw material prices are as low as ever now and prices haven't seemed to come down.

I guess it is easy to use the few dollars more in raw costs to justify a $100 increase when in fact the rod manufacturers  just wanted to increase prices. Any and all price increase that used raw material prices as an excuse should now be back to their ooriginal prices or even lower in some cases if the "excuse" was legit with the excpetion of titanium.

There are many factors. First and foremost, Carrillo rods are proudly made in the USA to exacting quality and production standards. Second, as noted above, it's volume. Even if we look at the past 10 years, I'd be surpried if Carrillo Hayabusa rods sold world wide equalled 1% of the number of rods sold for a small block Chevy motor. Very easy to drop prices when you sell rods by the dozen, never mind the fact that each Chevy motor takes twice as many rods as each Hayabusa motor...

It's comparing apples and oranges really.

And I am fairly sure that the best rods for a small block cost considerably more than $500/set.
