TEXAS MILE MARCH 2010 SHOOTOUT
« on: November 11, 2009, 06:02:50 PM »
I have not talked to anyone about kicking anything in so for now it would be $100. to enter and winner takes all.

You must come pay ME(or wife) before racing starts, we will not come looking for you.

Turbo, Nitrous, and Normally Aspirated classes, see Texas Mile wesite( www.texasmile.com ) for rules  and you must run a street tire.

Cannot run the same bike in multiple classes.

It will start Saturday whenever racing starts that day and end Sunday whenever they stop for lunch.

Friday will be your test day, rules subject to change.

TURBO: TOM GATES, BEN BECKERT, Anonymous, Anonymous

NITROUS: GUY CAPUTO

NORMALLY ASPIRATED: KARL GUNTER, MIKE HOOKS, RYAN ARNOLD

Post up and I will add you to the list, DON'T BE SCARED!

Yep, Tom, that Fri nite in March was "interesting".
pull down destroyed cases, block, rods, pistons, etc, and build a "spareparts" motor starting with bare cases.
then get back to the track by 7am.

don't know that i want to do it again anytime soon :D

Mike has MONTHS to rebuild his motor, and he was less than 1mph from taking home the green in Oct.
I'm thinking he'll smoke me in March.

I plan to but we just bought a new house and had a baby so my long list of parts to order is gonna be delayed a bit.  I hoped to decide on my next phase of mods before Loring but will probably just run her stock motor at that event.  Hopefully, I can start phase II and be ready for Oct '10 Texas.  I'm still on the fence about what I want to do and having enough time is my biggest problem but we'll see... :beechug:

I'll have to try to sneak down there for sure this time.

My bike seems to be working well althought it too is a engine built out of spare parts.  LOL :hys:

See what time will tell...
Maybe this year?

Thanks Fred!  I think I want to keep this one ALL motor but I keep thinking about the power from a TURBO.  I just don't think I have the time for TURBO maintenance/up keep right now... :(

Mike, I was running 19/42, spreadsheet say I was running about 11,000 rpm. I was running 217+ at the 21/4 mi. The 219 was an average from the 3 to 4 mi. It takes me about 1 1/2 to1 3/4 mi to get into 6th gear. Seriously traction challenged in the lower gears. :hys:
