STPs
« on: January 02, 2010, 08:38:38 AM »
During past days I have looked into STPs and tried to figure out how those operate. As my bike is not right now at home, could someone look how the plates are aligned under the following conditions:
1) Engine not running, power on
2) FULL throttle twisted
... and report back on this board.

It should look like either or the following pictures.

The reason I am asking is that on the map there is a different opening degree number for TOP POWER FULL OPEN vs IDLE FULL OPEN.

Found the answer from service manual.

STP voltage should be 0.5v fully closed which will then set the both primary and secondary throttleplates into same angle at 100% TPS i.e. with STPS opening 94%.
