My Gen II with RCC kit went to the dyno
« on: January 30, 2010, 01:13:58 PM »
Went to see Richard yesterday to tune with ecu boost fuel tuning.  After yesterdays session petrik has discovered a way to get much more fuel from ecu, but anyhow I made max of 280 hp with stock injectors and 1:1 regulator.  Should be enough for 350 with new software algorithm and ability to tweak the contribution of fuel from primary / secondary injectors.

anyhow, going from memory on these #'s, richard is going to send dyno sheets next week

3 psi spring:  190 hp
6 psi:  230 hp
8 psi:  250 hp
10 psi:  270
12 psi:  280 on one pull with no tuning and a/f was kinda crazy.

Thats RCC kit with full pipe carbon, filter that will it in bodywork, .080 spacer, ferrara valves, 65# springs, ape head studs, adjustable cam sprocket on intake, thats about it.

Up to 8 psi on pump gas, 10 and 12 psi we made pulls on leaded 110 fuel.

Here is a ecu editor boostfuel video from one of the pulls, we used this as a cheap datalogger LOL

Greg you've really been busting your ass with this ECU stuff.  Between work, ECU flashing, and family life you're either going to need a shit load of beer or another vacation!

Nice work on the boost fuel stuff. :thumb:  I got a silly question about that.  When the ECU reads boost is it pulling the fuel map directly from the closest RPM/boost table or does it interpolate.  You know, like if you're at 11 pounds of boost in your video is it using the fuel table at 10 pounds of boost or does it interpolate between 10/12 pound boost table?

What software? Looks pretty clean. Didn't think of that for tuning while using the engine data.

280 hp pull a/f was horrible, wasn't tuned at all, we were outta time and ideas at the time, i am sure it would have came up with proper tune, i think it went rich off the charts.

it will be real nice to show a 350 hp pull with stock injectors both at 100% duty cycle, that was only 100% on uppers, 50% on lowers, software has been retooled now  :thumb:

Bakery isn't the big problem, beer is the enemy, and pizza, and burgers, and  :hys:

we didn't do back to back pulls, but everything we did was with 3 degrees of timing pulled as well, not sure how much that hurt hp

Very cool! I watch your progress like some people watch reality tv. The season finale will be when you get secondaries to pitch in with the extra fueling. About the weight thing, I think you look like a bad-ass, plus the extra weight helps keep the front tire down. It's like I tell my wife, "Why am I gonna' keep running when I already caught the bus?!"  :D
How much hp will the full exhaust take away? Are you close to getting the ecu to fully map for 350?

My yellow bike made 461 hp with a full exhaust.

I am going to be in Michigan on Wednesday and Thursday, bring it to either new Hudson on Wed or Detroit on Thurs. I'll bring it back with me and dyno it on Saturday.
