Just an update be for I head out to the garage. Made it over by NEM yesterday and man, I don't know where to start. What a great guy, and he really knows his stuff. I learned so much from him, and it was alot of fun. The amazing sandwiches and kool-aid made it that much better. :hys: But as NEM says, I had a virgin motor, but now we made it a dirty whore! We had it apart and back together in about 6 hours, the longest part was cleaning all the factory gaskets off.

Have two questions.

Can I heli coil the exhaust bolts if I can get the tap to run through?

Any tips for getting the air box on?

Rob

Glad I can help....yeah....they were pretty tasty.
 :D

Yeah.....but try tapping first....should've mentioned it and we could've checked it before you left.

Put plenum on tb first then tbs to boots. After that if you need to ever take plenum off....just take it off the tb boots.

Bingo! Got a tap, and cleaned it up real nice. I did all of them. I'm surprised how much crap was in there.

So here's the pics from this weekend. Thanks again to NEM! What a smart guy, and a hell of a builder. His bike looks even better in person. I tried to get the tank on today, but found that the bov doesn't clear the tank...  Stedmens bov its a hair too tall, and hits just enough to push the tank over. I just sent him an email, so we will see what will come of that. I can always ding the tank in a bit, but I wanna see what hes gonna do about it first. Also, what am I soppost to do about the air temp sensor? Take it out of the old air box, and just plug it in and let it hang? Enjoy thr pics.

BAM!!!

Leave the sensor connected and zip tie it along the fuel rail.

 I've been fighting with the feed line to the fuel pump all evening, and I have not had any luck at all with it. Seems like anything I do is a step forward, then two steps back. I'm about ready to push the thing into the comer, buy somthing else to ride, and deal with it next winter.

When fustration levels reach this point I always walk away for a bit to clear my head, seems like the next day the problem almost solves itself sometimes.

You'll get it man.  I think I have a few pics of mine in my thread, and I have a larger pump and filter than typical stage one ones.  But I welded a feed -6 fitting to my stock sump, and slipped on a compression fitting to convert the stock feed to a -6 return.

Yeah I was just being hard on myself. I'll get it, it's just a pain in the ass, as I'm sure you guys know. Everything is done becides the fuel feed, waiting on my oil pan, and tonight I gotta drop off my dump pipe at the welder to get a bung put in It for the wideband. So it's real close, should be able to start it next week. Then to the dyno, then cut the plastics.
