Will 09 Fit Through A Door?
« on: March 05, 2010, 06:37:59 PM »
Picking up my new 09 tomorrow and just dawned on me that my old gen1 had 4-2-1 exhaust and this new one will have stock duals.  Anyone know if it'll fit through my door?

How wide is your door?
Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

It's just a standard size door.  Glad to hear it'll go through!  I'm sure it'll be a little tight, but at least I won't have to drop a pipe just to get it through.  :)  It'll live in my living room, just like the 03 did. :)

General rule of thumb on doors, front doors are 36" back doors are 32".  If you got a 36"  back door you are lucky and someone was thinking :thumb:

Could not resist the puns sorry, only makes sence the back door is smaller then the front door..... think about it  :hys: :hys:

Whew!  It is a 36" door and my back door is same size. :)  Got worried for a second there, wouldn't surprised me too much if the contractor cut corners on my doors too!

I feel better knowing it won't be an issue to get in though I'm sure a tight fit.  I was kinda hoping it wouldn't, give me reason to buy a 4-2-1 exhaust right off the bat! :)  may do it anyways, I know it'll only be a couple weeks and I'll be placing that order anyways!

I recommend the Ti-Force 4-2-1 titanium pipe, looks great, and High quality.  http://www.tiforce.com/2003/models_page/suzuki/gsx1300r_hayabusa.html

or the Yoshimura TRI full system as well  http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/ps-3461-1241-tri-stainlesscarbon-full-system.aspx

But really it comes down to personal taste, almost everything out there seems to be good quality as far as pipes go.

The only thing I know is that I want a 4-2-1 setup again...and probably go with the Yoshi R77 even cause I like the cans a hair better over the Ti's.  Need to order it, just can't decide if I want the carbon cans or the titanium can with carbon end cap.

New bike fit through the door just fine. :)

Mine made it in my living room several times with no problems, just remember to fold the mirrors if you're backing out.  I tattoo'd the cement floor one evening, then put new carpet in the week.

Accorining to the specs at 28.9" wide, you should have no problem.  :thumb:

Overall Length 2190 mm (86.2 in)
Overall Width 735 mm (28.9 in)
