Throttle sticking
« on: March 09, 2010, 02:10:20 PM »
hey fellas, my buddy has an 01 busa and his throttle sticks when he throttles it. He can make it return to close throttle but it doesn't snap back on it's own like it should. Is there a dial or some links that we can adjust to fix this. It looks like the grips were changed recently but not by him.
Don't be scared, twist the throttle, it's only a BUSA.

Lift your tank and see if its the throttle bodies or the cables and throttle tube.  Just move the throttle bodies by hand they should snap back quickly.  Its probably either the cables or the throttle tube, its easy to find out which.

check and make sure the end of your grip is not getting caught on the bar end i just took a razor blade and trim the grip around the bar end.

When i installed my R1 tube i had to slightly bend the cable mounts back on the throttle bodies...i also put another turn in the spring so it is stiffer

Shortens the throttle twist... i think the stock busa is 1/8 turn and the R1 is 1/6 turn

you have to get push and pull of the two cables in synch with each other-- adjust down by throttle bodies
