GSX-R 1000 Forks and Wheels

Can someone please tell me why so many people are always looking for  GSX-R 1000 wheels and forks. Are they lighter and used on the Busa for drag racing or something. I have some 04 GSX-R1000 wheels and forks and are debating whether I will ever need them.

The brakes are better, they look better, and the wheels are lighter, especially the 05-up 1k wheels
