Has anyone here had a regulator go bad and start over charging the battery? What happened and did the bike act funny? My speedometer is bouncing around sitting still up to 50 mph with a rev of the motor, another regulator lets it go up to 10 mph sitting still, and if I unplug it the speedometer acts normal. This is the same bike that is cutting out at 9000 rpm. Also if I unplug the regulator it will pull to red line but is under powered. I'm showing the battery charging at idle at 14.6-15.1v depending on which regulator at 1300 rpm. If anyone could check there battery voltage at idle that would be great. Gen1 by the way.
I have swapped speedo sensor and the pick up is tight.
