Which is why I didn't race Sunday and why the ECTA doesn't allow you on the course when sidewinds are higher than 15mph

You are just asking for trouble.

After that I sad no more, that was actually Saturday and that was the reason that I did't run more than twice Sunday. Sounds like a good rule though.

Yup, Sat had a lil S crosswind, but Sunday... Sunday wind had a pure fukken evil N crosswind.

No real wind related handling issue until about 1/2 mi marker, must be some topographical shielding???
But from mid track thru shut down was EVIL!

Wind is always an issue in Texas.  I've let up on several runs because the wind was blowing me off the track and I'm not running nearly that fast.

15mph rule is DEFINITELY needed by Maxton, as narrow as it is.
Maybe a good idea for Texas also.

So,  being as tire circumference decreases as lean angle increases shall we have some fun and speculate how much speed Tom may have gained by having the bike upright?

Sometimes skills compensate for smarts. Fortunately he said his prayers, and returned safely. I did hear a "I don't want to do that again".

One of my first passes in Goliad was in a cross wind. Pretty hairy. I told my buddy I felt like I was in a 45 degree angle.

I must say my first pass on the long coarse at the 3 at Bonneville in 03 had the wind blow me clear off the coarse 100 yards to the east heading for rt 80, i found myself fighting it and leaning the other way only to realize i don't have to fight it there's nothing to hit, so i moseyed back on coarse and WOT i went!!  I prayed also, its just instinct.. When your flirting with disaster..
