GSX-R1000 wheels and forks

I tried to do a search to see what spacing issues i will run into on an 04 GSX-R1000 wheel swap and for some reason didn't find what I was looking for. I also have a set of 04 1000 forks and noticed some people were using them on their busa's. Is that for drag racing because the forks are lighter? I don't do any drag racing and was wondering if I should hang on to the forks or get rid of them

Thought everyone used 05 and up forks   not 100% sure on that though
