If anyone's interested, I just installed a Vista throttle-lock on my R1 tube.  I used the Yamaha model made for single or double cables.  For some reason the R1 grip rubber "flange" is too large in diameter and rubs around the circumference on the Vista unit.  I had to trim it down using a razor knife.  The Yamaha uses a different throttle assembly of course and I couldn't use the little spring steel pieces they give you to hold the Vista from rotating.

To get around this I cut a small piece of thin sheet steel with two holes in it (drill the holes before cutting.)  It's about .75" X .5"  One hole lines up with the closest 'Busa throttle cable "hold down" screw.  The other hole lines up under the rectangular-shaped boss on the bottom of the Vista.  The homemade piece goes directly under the hold-down screw head, followed by a fairly thick washer, then the stock hold-down plate.  This assembly order spaces the sheet metal piece out a bit so it lines up with the bottom of the Vista, while allowing the hold-down plate to work as designed.

I drilled a small hole through the rectangular boss in the bottom of the Vista i.e. up from the bottom and used a 3/8" lg.l #6-32 screw to hold the sheet metal piece onto the throttle lock.  I'm not sure this was necessary as the sheet steel piece buts up against the Vista tightly enough to stop it from rotating.  Obviously I drilled the hole with the unit off the bike.

I'm not sure if I can take a photo of this or not but can try if anyone is interested.  I've been a fan of throttle-locks for a long time but like the R1 tube so much I had to find a way to make this work.  The "fast idle" lever can also work but there's not enough travel to provide meaningful assistance at anything over 50 mph, even adjusted as far out as possible.

Im not 100% sold on this yet. I just installed the throttle tube on my bike. I HAVE NOT YET RODE IT TO CONFIRM. But i did make a mark on busa throttle tube to bar, then turn to full throttle and made mark on bar where mark on throttle tube was.  Installed r1 throttle and make mark on tube where mark was on bar, turned throttle to wot and mark lined up with wot mark on bar from busa tube. Like I said have not rode it yet as im doing alot more to bike and its not ridable, but just from the marks i would think there was no change.

Ok,
I have an update that may help...........or not?

I have recently ordered BOTH, the R1, and the R6 throttle tubes from 2 different companies.
It SEEMS as tho, Yamaha is only using 1 part now, for both part numbers.
I had a left over R1 tube that was still in the package, so I ordered an R6 to compare.
IDENTICAL!!!
Thinking that Ron Ayers might be shipping the wrong part, even tho the part numbers coincide,
I ordered another  R6 tube. AGAIN, IDENTICAL!
Now I have an R1 tube, and 2 R6 tubes that are with their respective packages, and all 3 are the same, so I order from another vender. The package came in today, and guess what??

It's IDENTICAL to the other 3 that I already have. I measured everywhere there is to measure, with a digital caliper, and there is NO difference.

Well that sucks. So do you think it's always been that way? I never got a chance to get one in the old days....laziness....oh well. R1 is good enough for me.

I know people here have had both and say they are different.
All I know if i've gone thru 4 of them, from 2 different places and the ones I got are identical!
I have no idea which one I have. I think it's the R1, because it's different, but not all THAT different???

that sucks, i ordered one a couple years ago that was a lot shorter, so i assume as i couldn't get it installed and the cables to hook up etc LOL.  was going to re-visit this now as it drives me nuts trying to get to WOT on my turbo bike.  Would love to have it shorter.

Been running the R6 tube for 5 years. Took a bit to get used to the rapid response.

I decided to do a comparison of throttle tubes from various bikes. Unfortunately I don't have the stock Hayabusa tube handy so you will have to use your imagination on that. Anyhow, I have thrown in a few other tubes just for comparison sakes. The correct R6 throttle tube to use is listed below.

1985 Kawasaki 750 Turbo - Part# - 46019-1059
2008 Kawaski Ninja 250R - Part# - 46019-0001
2004 Kawasaki ZRX1200R - Part# - 46019-0001
2006 Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R - Part# - 57110-46E01
2004 Yamaha R1 - Part# - 4YR-26240-02-00
2006 Yamaha R6 - Part# - 2C0-26240-00-00

Diameters: Give or take  .10mm +/-

750 Turbo - 31.50mm
Ninja 250R - 36.75mm
Yamaha R1 - 36.85mm
Yamaha R6 - 40.75mm
