Electrical
« on: April 20, 2010, 11:32:09 PM »
My 2000 Busa stopped on me the other day . I was doing about 80 & the bike just st oped. The gauges were all stock in place. i smelled some smoke that turned out to be my battery. I replaced the battery & replaced the fuelpump fuse. It stared up. I took it out for about 5miles. My F1 light came on and my bike stopped again. I smelled some smoke that smelled like wires. It would not start back up. My fuel pump didn't kick in when i turned over the key nor did my fan come on. all the fuses were good. Could this be my Rugulator or Coil or both ?

look at connections under the tank from stator cover and back in tail at rectifier probably melted connectors and wires would be my guess.

Alot of the Suzukis I've worked on seemed to have the connector to the rectifier melted. You might want to test your rectifier, there's a procedure for the test in the Busa manual.
