Hey Greg, my plans have changed a bit, and I'm shooting for World of Speed. That would put an El Mirage event the weekend prior, but I doubt I can swing it this year. I'd need to apply to a club, and I think that takes a little time for an East coast person. I would rather not run as a guest if possible. Will you go to El Mirage? Hope to see you at Bonneville.

Should catch up at WOS then ,planning Bubs and WOS ,and be good to get in Elmo between if it works out ,
From my experience don't plan on doing Elmo just once, if the wind comes up early you may only get 1 run, that would be your rookie run, speed limited

Still chasing sponsors , looks like maybe 4 bikes and 1 car coming over if it all falls into place

I can't find the rule now, but I think that only club members can set records. Am I wrong?

A guest cannot set a record. Of course you can be the fastest motorcycle ever. I think you can only run twice as a guest. I dont know about the other clubs, I am in San Deigo Roadster Club, I live in Texas. If you apply for membership, they will vote on your application at the next meeting after you apply. The club meets every month, they have a website and I think you can apply on line. Lots of motorcycle people in SDRC.

I don't think that is true Fred but I could be wrong. Guests pay more to run as well. There is licensing runs as well that typically eat up the first event before you can really open her up.

If you have a SCTA lic from Bonne i think you only need one clean rookie run before being able to run to your licence level
In 08 Jim and i did our rookie passes then as i would have had to licence up but Jim already had a B he took the last pass ,
Nowhere near the bikes or Jims potential due to a chopped up track  , not unusual by the end of the day

I am pretty sure you have to make a 125-150 pass, then a 150-175 pass, then a 175-200 pass, and then you can go over 200. Like I said before, once you get all of your licensing done the weekend is over and you are lucky to have got one full pass wide open. A typical two day event weather permitting will usually yield 4-5 passes.

From what they made Shane run last year, it looks like a 150mph, then under 200 then you are good to go.

I had to make three lic's runs then a 200... It was a long weekend, but I learned a lot!

Fred - No bike this year.......I am building the fast bike in hopes of being as fast as a lot of the guys on this board.......a pipe dream for the time being.

I may ride a friends bike at Speed Week, well see.
