2008 Busa Top Speed question (gearing related)
« on: April 28, 2010, 02:29:10 PM »
Yo ladies and gents.  I'll be hopping on an 08 with the usual pipe/pc3/filter mods.  Bike has been derestricted now.  In a perfect world what will they pull to on the rev limiter in 6th, stock tire and ecu?

We are going -1 on the front for the run since the owner is a bigger guy and will be happier on it.

9/10ths mile roll-on FWIW.

I figure I should be right at 190 if I hit the rev limiter in 6th.  Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

A.

Might want to run it on a dyno and see where it is making the most hp. Then gear it for that rpm.

This is an ET run, mph is just icing on the cake...so gearing for peak HP would not be optimal for the best results.

That vid looks like a factory limited bike...

My experience with stock gearing, tire, etc. unrestricted is 194ish on a Gen-II.

How much does he weight and how big is he?

With those mods it should be a pretty sweet setup for stock gearing unless he's 250+.
