Akrapovic Carbon Race single exhaust,PC3,stock gearing, puig double bubble windshield. Dyno tuned on a warm day and made 187hp and 105 torque, about the average. I will go faster as I didnt hit the limiter, tack was creeping up slow the last 500rpm,I have to hit that limiter, lol

I've heard that stock gearing will get you over 200mph,Didn't Brock run stock gearing when he went 201 at maxton?

Droping a tooth or two on the rear is one way or use a 55 profile rear tire ;)

I slide my ass all the way back to the hump and lift my ass up abit, arch my back, right hand stays on the throttle obviously, lol, and the left gets pulled in and rested on the tank, toes up and in. I went 188mph on my 01 at Maxton in 95 degree heat and 98% humidity,it was not a good HP day, showroom stock, stock pipes, gear, air filter, using that style tuck, lol.

That's moving out, that's over 3 miles per minute! Can you imagine how short your commute would be if you could hold that all the way into work lol

First...I'm sorry to tell you that unless you were going down hill....there is no way you ran 196mph.  Stock gearing is only good for 192mph assuming your on the limiter and if you've not flashed the ECU and or run a GPS mod...you can't break 186mph.  Are you sure that you meant 196 vs 186?   The stock cams die out well before the limiter comes into play and if your on stock tires...stock ECU flash...your GPS is in error.  I can hit the limiter on my bike with the ECU flash and pipe with sealed Ram air ....I ran 192mph is it with the stock "Gearing".   Visit the "gearingcommander" website and it will also reference the above.

The rev limit for the Gen 2 hits at 11,600,which I didn't hit and my new top speed is 197mph on my GPS,I have a switchable TRE installed and I am running stock gearing. I was running pump gas and it was a nice 70 degree low humidity,my gps is accurate. Below is Brock's setup for his 202mph pass at maxton in 08 with stock gearing, not stock tires.
Here's the link-   http://www.dragbike.com/dbnews/anmviewer.asp?a=3669&z=4

   1. Brock’s Performance Alien Head Exhaust System
   2. Dynojet power commander IIIusb with Brock’s “Maxton” map
   3. Dave O prepped Innovate aux box kit ( LM1 Basic + LMA-3)
   4. Brock’s Performance “bare necessities” drag race kit
   5. World Wide Bearings ceramic wheel bearing kit with low tension seals and aerospace lubricant
   6. Richie’s Tires/Michelin pilot power race 120/60 front 190/55 rear (Stock tires are Bridgestone Battlax BT015 120/70 front and 190/50 rear.)
   7. Ohlins Hayabusa (99-07) top mount steering stabilizer kit
   8. Vortex sprockets (stock 18-43 ratio) for GSX-R1000 rear wheel
   9. Brock’s Performance by Spiegler stainless steel brake and clutch lines
  10. Regina ZRP Series “Brock modified” chain
  11. Tiger Racing “Brock modified” aluminum chain guard
  12. Schnitz Racing (Brock Modified) billet triple tree (top clamp plate)
  13. Inline resistor (TRE) to trick the bike into thinking it is in 5th gear all of the time to prevent built-in high speed limiter from functioning. (Note: The gear position indicator is stuck on 5 all of the time, the neutral light doesn’t work, the ABC mode selector doesn’t work and the bike will not run with the kickstand down, but the 186 MPH limiter doesn’t work either.)

  14. Chicken Hawk tire warmer

He's not running a stock tire 50 vs 55

The stock limiter is not 11,600 unless you flash it??
I've seen Broc's write up but his mods are far more then yours and I'm just having a hard time seeing your bike achieving 197mph unless you've done more too it...more so in 1 mile?

It's not that big of a deal to me what you ran...it would be cool to see a video of the run to 197mph with your bike with stock gearing and tires :-)

So I guess my Gps needs to be recalibrated then, lol, cause you guys just know it's not possible with all your top speed experiance, real world not theory. I'm throwing my Garmin in the trash right now! I have done three runs and my bike pulls to 11,600 on the tack and I haven't hit my limiter yet,I only have a switchable tre, there is tack error and I forget what mine was when it was on the dyno but it wasn't 500 rpm. Out of all the past four busa's I've owned the most tack error I have seen is 400rpm. Don't know what to tell you guys but those are the facts, and gps usually doesn't lie, I'll post a pic of the top speed recall, and I wasnt going down hill, lol.

When I went to maxton with my 01,I put my bike on the dyno and did a top speed run with a 16 tooth sprocket and the dyno recorded a speed of 183.9mph when I went to maxton and made a pass the bike went 183.5mph,So has anyone on here made a top speed run with a Gen 2 with stock gearing, obviously there's no wind resistance on the dyno, but if you have the hp to pull the gear that's how fast you can go, as my test with my 01 proved. I ended up going 188mph at Maxton with my showroom stock 01 after going back to stock gearing in 98 degree heat and humidity, bike was easily down 8 to 10hp in those conditions, the record was 192mph and was set in 65 degree weather, which happens to be the temp I'm making my runs in now. So my point being that the gen 2 has the power to go that speed,197,as long as its not gear limited and obviously its not according to my Gps.   So hopefully someone has run a Gen2 out in 6th gear on the dyno. Then we can put this to rest, cuz obviously I have a broken Gps.

Stock gearing and tire on the dyno mine pulled 196mph and change in 6th..with the stock limiter... "Later raised to allow shifting in peak power"

So there we have it,I ran 196 twice and 197 once, but I never hit the limiter, unless the limiter hits different in top gear. My top speed recall says 197mph right now.

I never said it ran that under a load with wind restriction!   Your so far beyond the power curve of the cams that I still don't believe you ran it with stock tires/gearing.  The cams dump around 10600...I still need a video to believe it ...

By running the Larger tire like Brock did, it helps lower RPM and get more speed yet stay close to stop HP curve.  Also keep in mind he had a different aribox that Dave Owens designed....VP race fuel and was 200+ Hp.

If you have an Iphone-Droid etc....just start a video ...show us your "zero" top speed on the GPS....never stop the video and then the results at 196+mph and there will be no more questions about your statement about running that fast with your set up.

Take care,
Mike
