I'M close to finish my buddy engine........Gen 1 1441 with epoxy intake and welded exhaust.......let you know the result soon guys.......and a couple of pictures of the massaged ports.....

 . I d put pics up of the head but I'm not sure im allowed. I'll have to call Steve Sharkey and ask. I know what he does he says a few guys out there do the exact same so not sure that it would be any big deal but dont want to piss anyone off either.

did you say you left the base gasket on it?  the gen 2, at least on my old 08 had a base gasket that was 2 layers, one layer was about .010"  and the other was a little .005" thick one  
they are crimped together at like 2 or 4 spots i cant remember, but i almost misssed it cause they dont have the little ring holding the layers together

i split the base gasket and threw out one, cant remember which, to get the piston to head clearance where i wanted it
also shark milled the head more i think

thats probably why it wouldnt start when real hot, plus i only had stock battery

im gonna get a copy of the dyno sheet today and post it up for comparisons sake since it was very similar (also mine was dynoed with the stock gen 2 tire)

Left base gasket alone.Now had I know there were 2 layers I'm quite sure one may have come up missing . Going back with some 93 octane gas, a few miles on rings to make sure they are seated and a norm tire. I bet it will be over 220 and thats to me is great #s with small cams.I know it pulls like a you know what

Cool Bro, but let me help you get done a little faster, the exhaust... well, it dont need degreed, it just bolts to the head. Yo'll play hell getting a degree wheel onto the can if thats what you were going to dial in. Sorry,couldnt resist

ya know ive ridden a piped gen2 that showed 200hp on a dyno,it still didnt mph any better than 1 that read mid 180,s on a DIFFERENT dyno.One makes you feel real
proud until you take it the strip,the other surprises everyone and people think
