02' Busa won't shift down

Put my engine together and the bike won't shift back to neutral or 1st, it will shift up and down in other gears  :(...just want to get some ideas before I take it appart again. Thanks guys.

I would check the external linkage under the left side cover and pay attention to the detent star, etc.

Thanks guys.Kept shifting up and it got to neutral, i'm going to ride it around the block and see.
