What the hell is NHRA smoking or sniffing? The idea of 4 wide drag racing sucks!!! I watched it a couple of weeks ago and have been following the controversy. The only place it makes sense is to allow more test and tune runs or to let the pro classes have more qualification runs. Allowing 4 wide races cheats the fans out of watching quality matches. What is NHRA promoting, high production races?? Complete bullshit, its bad enough drag racing gets lousy TV coverage as it is.

I agree,way too much going on at one time.As of this last weekend it's supposedly pretty much done with(so far it was just that one event at that new track,and they may run it again just because the track owner spent so much money on the track),neither the fans nor the drivers are in favor of it.

Looks like slot car racing.

Maybe trying to run through the field faster if it is to big

Why not run staggered starts?, were two lanes go then the other two lanes to get cars down the track faster, but not 4 at the same time.

Its a bad idea.

I thought it was ok at first but the more I see it to much going on!!..staggard start would be ok,get 4 races done in the time of two,but like said they rush and dont show much racing covarge as it is!!

I saw it and I liked it

Even my girlfreind watched the whole thing with me. Now if I was the one racing it might be another story

I went to the 4 wide nationals and it was a BLAST. Nothing like seeing 4 prostock cars all run within .02 of each other!

Its bad enough when one car losses control and takes out the other lane, just wait until someone loses control and takes out the other 3 cars. I think the 4 wide drag racing is crap and definately unsafe

Golden rule, the one with the gold rules? Mr Bruton Smith put a lot of money into HIS operation so NHRA will bend over just as they did with HARDLEY DANGEROUS. Its the kind of crap I'd expect to see from IHRA but they couldn't get 4 cars to show up. Just my never to be humble opinion.

I agree, not a good idea, but I would really love to hear/feel four top fuel cars at the same time.

From a spectator standpoint I can see it lodical, from the racers not a chance.
There's a concrete barrier seperating in the center, not likely (didn't say not possible) of one cars wading up all the others.
NHRA announced it won't be happening again, and the new track in Vegas the builder said he had planned to build isn't happening anymore either.

There were a LOT of really bad lights. Ed had a .175 in round 1, hell I could do better than that. Screw that 4-lane madness.

It's cool for exhibition but not for all races. First they start with this as it will take 2 races for the time of 1. Then they will cut down the time between laps and by the time you know it the move of the titanic will last longer than the races

agree w most of ya. i think its cool and all but its totally cheating spectators. not cheap to go to these events. Would like to see it in person thobut like yall said once is enough.

no 4 wide and espn is bad also nhra needs to with a motorspot network, someone who thinks drag racing is more important than womens softball ,get me a brake
