What length swing arm would be best
« on: June 09, 2010, 06:43:01 PM »
The bike is a 07 Busa , lowered too  2" off  the ground, Strut no rear shock , 6" over arm on bike now bike still wants to come over ,  50 hp shot of Nos, nos come on in 3rd gear, 7" slick , 17 - 46  gearing . I'm 6'4 @ 270lb with leathers , to many back surgery's can't afford to have bike come over again, I don't want to have to use the wheelie bar .
Would a 9 to 12  over arm help without causing the tire to blow away ? Any and all suggestions will be appreciated

go to 68-70, spray sooner, and get a good shock for your weight

it makes the tire a pivot point instead of the shock being the pivot point basically

Lose strut sounds like a winner.
Now I'm 6'4 @ 265lbs  & with gear about 275lbs , is there anyone out there my size that has adjusted there suspension and if so what was the  settings.
I can't afford to get a race shock at this time.
I've always ran a bar on my bikes being I ran a T/F Harley , P/M Suzuki and a T/G Suzuki before getting the Bursa, I still have the T/F bike.
Due to my past injuries I can't afford to have the bike come over that's why I've been using a bar.

You at the very least would have to put a heavier spring on your factory shock. Something like 800lbs. The adjustment for a factory shock with your setup would be full tight on both compression and rebound

Took the strut off , Put a  11.5"  to 14.5"  over arm on ,  added 14 lbs weight up front.
I won't know how this set up will work until I get well enough to ride.
My next adjustment will have to be the shock, I was thinking of turning the adjuster's to max.
any in put on that thought ?
