a purge is good for any nitrous application in my opinion. Keep pressures constant and better have a way to get rid of that pressure in the heat

Ask my buddie if you need a purge last race in 90 degree heat he was over 1300 psi and we had to keep cracking the line on the bottle to bleed it out. guess what's on his bike now! A purge!

Do you need one, probably not.  But, should you have one, yes indeed.

If you want to keep your press from getting to high you will have to cool it down with ice cold rags  etc, if the press is up real high and you purge it from 1300 to 900 now you wasted alot of your nos, just keep it at 900 whether you have to heat or cool it down.. Its good to have a purge though so you can set your press at the last second on the line.  But i also sometimes just crack the line loose with the bottle on, to let some out if i don't have a purge..

Use a nitrous bottle regulator by Wilburn Motorsports

Wilburn is on this site.
The Pressure Pro is adjustable from 500-1100psi and is accurate down to 1psi. With a Pressure Pro you will no longer have to "purge down" to your desired bottle pressure. The Pressure Pro eliminates excessive purging keeping more nitrous in your bottle for better performance and your outlet pressure deadly consistent for accurate tuning. The Pressure Pro works on any nitrous system, wet or dry. There are two Pressure Pros available, the original Pressure Pro flows 125hp @ 900 psi, features 1/8npt inlet and outlets and is gauge ported. The Pressure Pro II flows 500hp @ 900 psi, features 1/4npt inlet and outlet and is also gauge ported. Both regulators feature a lifetime warranty against faulty workmanship and premature wear.
