Purpose of a straight link???

Just want 2 ask the experts out there what exactly is the purpose of a straight link?  I currently have one and my friend tells me its the reason Im spinning all over the place when tryin 2 launch bc I dont weigh enough to make it work????  (150lbs) Any input??

A straight link does 2 things (that I know?) :D
Lowers the bike and stiffens the rear suspension.

Your sag should always be re-adjusted after making any suspension changes. :thumb:
