purilator filter or Auto filter that I can use??
« on: July 13, 2010, 10:55:46 PM »
Whats up all........

Was wondering if there was a Purilator or other reccomended auto filter I could substitute for the oem........
$16 for the stock seems a little steep at my local dealer......specially since many including the Purilators get good reviews for almost half the dealer cost
If it aint broke.....fix it till it is :)

I've ran frams...oem....billet filters with no probs.
I also change my oil quite often.

You should be able to order oem at schnitz for a lot less than $16.

Thanks for the List...think ill try the Napa/Wix filter.......

Fram seems to be universally panned the past few years.
Funny how they really aren't all the same

Thanks again for the input all  :beechug:

it would be nice if suzuki would change the thread over  to the 20 x 1.5 mm so u could have a better selection for oil filters. :eh:
i've heard suzuki has  20 x 1.5 mm on the new 4 stroke outboards oil filters   :smokin:.. wish they had a part # for the spickot  that threads into the cases.  :bgd: maybe someone will be able to come up with a #
not enough bullets to get em all.......but I can try......

Purolator has a cross reference section on their site.

I would try the number just as the manufacturer lists it. If it doesn't come back with a cross then re-enter the part number but remove any spaces and/or dashes. Sometimes the site wants them, other times it doesn't.
I've yet to see a decent JE piston.  All the ones that have come through my door are big heavy clunky items.
