Logging Nitrous Activation
« on: July 22, 2010, 02:39:33 AM »
Hey, I am wanting to log nitrous activation with my LM-2.   I was wondering if I can put a resistor in line from my nitrous solenoid to logger or what I need to do since the inputs are only 0-5 volt.

Simple voltage splitter should do the trick.  I've made a couple to data log 12v sources on autos.  You can google to get plans (I think).  Resistors from Radio Shack.

get one of these
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2062601

turn it down to 2.5 or so volts, and you are off and running

remember if you are running a progressive, you will not accuratly see the progressive show up in the log
you might see a occational spike, till it hits 100%

How do you adjust the voltage?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good way to connect to that voltage regulator.  I am sure I could solder it.  Just would like to make it as neat as possible.

little pieces of circuit board to can build prototype circuits on

you can mount that Little regulator on the board and trim it small enough to fit in a film canister

or what I did it wired the regulator
and heat shrunk it into the wiring harness, you can't even see it

I thought about wiring it up and heat shrinking it like that.  I could put it on a board, but looking to make it as small as possible.
