Turbo or Muscle
« on: August 06, 2010, 09:54:46 AM »
I want to build a 05 gsxr 1000 and I need help deciding which way I should go. Looking to get sum low 8's out of the bike. When I mean low I mean flirting with the high 7's. So I guess my question is anybody willing to give up there trade secrets? I was thinking motor work and a slider clutch. But I also like that I can put a turbo on her and still ride it to work if I wanted. So let's hear it guys. Need a good set up for 1000 basically. And before you start know that I don't have lots of money but willing to go into a little debt.lol!

Put the motor and increased power part of the project on hold adn get a chassis and clutch worked out first. Then add power.  Trying to run low 8's is not going to be an easy task regardless.

Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

That parts taken care of for the most part. I have a revalved busa shock I'm going to put on it and the forks have been cut. As far as the clutch goes I kinda need a direction on turbo or motor. That will decide the clutch set up. Motor would be a slider but for turbo I may go with heavy springs. But need input on power adder first.

Buy a hays clutch first. You can use it with whatever combo you decide to go with, and it looks sexy as hell just sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed!
