help again guys and gals
« on: August 11, 2010, 10:31:21 PM »
Ok got my engine back together and in the bike after some trans work.  But now the oil light stays on when I let it idle.  I'm to afraid of letting it run or raising the rpm until I can figure it out. Yes I hooked up the green wire to the pres sending unit.  Any ideas

You got any left over parts?
Oil pump drive gear on back of clutch not there, not meshed or broken from installing clutch with it not meshed?
Oil pump gear pin not installed?
Main galley plug left out somewhere?
Oil pickup not installed correctly/ blocked with fried clutch crap?

DON'T run it til you find it.

PS how long has it run and did you crank it over with no plugs in it til the light went out before firing it up?

Didn't crank with plugs out. But I did let it crank with no fuel for as long as the bat would go then started seen oillight within about 5 seconds and shut off.  I'm about to pull the clutch cover and check the pump
