Even at that height your mass of weight is still behind the center of the bike. If I where to guess I would say the balance point is somewhere right behind the fuel fill hole. When sitting on the bike the center moves way back, and the most we can hope for is to get the center of mass back towards where it should be.

I loved 17/43, was awsome gearing for me. I could even start off in 6th gear from a dead stand still with that and a weilded hub. 17/45 would prob be what you need, it would really move you out well and with the 6 over arm I would say it would make a nice street set up.

So we're guessing a 2.65 - 2.72 gear would work best?

Well I am just guessing, for a balance of performance and not reving to the moon on those long flat highways in FL  :hys:

My buddy ran 16/43 for awhile that was quick as shit. He going to do 17/45 now on the new bike i think thats what he decided and he is around 240.

The more I read and think about it, I think a 2.76 gear will do the trick. Like 18/49 or a 18/50. ;) like I said, I don't want to go so low that I can't cruise at 120 or 130 on these nice flat straight roads! ;)

I know your a big boy, but still I think you should stay something like 18-45, one tooth on the counter is like 3 on the wheel, and with 18-49 at 130 MPH your motor is going to be screaming, not really that bad RPM wise but it will sound like it, the 18-45 or 17-43 would be easyer on the motor, and still have plenty of power

Gotcha. I want to highway gear it for the trip, but when I get back I'll do an 18/45 or 46.

18-40 is a killer highway gear, if my math is correct, and its probably not that should about 95 MPH@4000 RPM or close to it

I agree,i ran a 17/43 for a while and at highway speeds it was revving more than i cared for so went to 18/43 to put it back almost to stock(i see where you're comin' from though,18/45 would probably ease your jumbo self away from a stoplight with less strain on your clutch ).

Yeah, I was thinking about heavier clutch springs or an upgraded set of clutch plates. I'm thinking gen II break calipers, braided lines and premium pads too... And I wanted to ask you guys if the wave rotors actually DO anything, or if they just look cool... because they don't look cool... they look like flowers, and I can't be having flowers on my bike!!!
