Ok how much spray on this build
« on: November 29, 2010, 10:28:23 PM »
I'm getting ready to build my engine. Bike is a 06 1k sitting at 61in 200lb rider. Gearing now is 15 45. So my current set up is ward performance port and polished head, weisco pistons, rc performance cams, had was shaved 25 thousands, and stock rods. I was running a 40 shot dry last year. Now I plan to keep the same setup but add crower rods and a air shifter also have the busa shock revalved for my weight and wb. Oh yeah and switch to a wet system. So my question is how much would you spray this set up, and what type of gearing would you use. My personal plan is to go to 280hp motor and spray. Thanks in advance

Pistons are 13-5-1 if that makes a difference.

100 hp on c16 fuel and I would go with a .036 head gasket to get that compression back down some. But I'll tell ya after doing a stock bore nitrous motor myself then going to the 3 mil the next year I should have done the 3 mil from the beginning. I was running low compression stock bore je pistons with a 150 shot and barely ran 8.4s. Exact same motor with RC's nitrous 3 mil pistons, carrillo a-beams, stock ported head, no milled head, 03/04 1000 intake cam on the exhaust side, stock intake cam, good valve springs went 8.3s first pass. Then consistently ran 8.1s on only a dry 50 hp shot. These motors need torque. Had I had your head and cam package I would have gone 7s easily. But I blew it up and sold the roller. By the way I am 195 unsuited. But I was at 70" on a slider. Your wheelbase will be you limiting factor. My guess now is that you should run 8.5s on spray?

you can ride a 3 mil on the street all day. I was at 16/43 on the 3 mil, and 16/44/45 on the stock bore
