2011 Goals!?!
« on: December 02, 2010, 10:49:20 PM »
I see one for every year posted on here, so let me be the one to start it.

Me: 6ft was 289, now 251, tring to drop to 210 by the start of the season.

Bike: 400+HP (hopefully) has an +8 over arm, dont know what the WB is gonna end up being yet. 18/44 gears, single stage lock up..

Goal: 8.5...I figure 250hp bikes can do 8.9, an 8.5 might be doable...

TURBOLAG: The split second the other guy thinks hes winning.

Yes I'm putting in a ton of work, but Ive never raced my bike at the track, nor have I ever raced a turbo bike. But I have 3 and 4 days off in a row from work, and my own trailer so I should be able to to hit all the test and tunes during the week. Plus no matter whats going on, they almost always let bikes run at the local tracks.

I think your situation may be good...Since bing new to the track as well as racing with boost you will learn both at the same time...Just take your time and don't expect any great times...When you become familar with the dynamics watch out...

Figure out how to cut a decent repeatable 60.
Fix tranny.
And maybe throw some more parts at the bike.
OR
Force feed my skinny riding buddies until they don't weigh 100 or more less than me. :vl:

following murder's format;

Me: 5'10" 220lbs and down to 210 and falling slowly but surely.

Bike: adding +6 arm and clutch cushion and mod, changing gearing as well. 16/40 to 16/42. Plus a bunch cosmetic goodies, +6 tail, new gauges, new paint should be about all

Goal: Will be my second year racing. Finished this year with a best of 10.5 only. Goal is for sub tens of any sort.

I ran 17/42 at 6" with a PC and Muzzy 4-2-1 and couldn't keep her down...Riding style has alot to do with how the bike will react as well...If you liked 16/40 and are just going up 2 in the rear you should be able to make a few minor adjustments and achieve your goal...My bike is a Gen 1 as well...I'm 250pds... :thumb:

Yeah dude, the stock front sprocket is a 17, so going down to a 16 is going to put even more strain on your output shaft. You don't wanna break it! Keel it at 17, or jump up to an 18, and run a monster gear in the back. Plus bigger sprockets help aid in the bike squatting at the launch.  :thumb:

16/42 is a good all around gear. It's what I run, I could use more but I street ride way more than track.
I got a couple of buddies your size and when they ride it they haven't had many issues. Never has come up alot with either of them on it. Have had it smoke the tire on the street.
Now on nitrous and me on it, it will come up a little but not on the motor.
Me - 6'2" 300lb
Bike - gen 1, lowered, 6 over, 16/42, small box mod, all short stacks, full pipe, running ecu editor, oh and a lil nitrous.

thanks for all the info!!

I am currently at only 16/40, being that this was my first year out didnt wanna goto crazy.

As far as other mods, all short stacks, full system, and an air shifter ( only made 4 passes on it) is it.
