"Rust Bucket Roller" project started
« on: January 27, 2011, 02:58:38 PM »
In December the Advisory Committee informed me that my green Busa would prob suffer if i took it to my planned 1st salt event, World of Speed this year.

So i am gonna build a spare parts roller, used greenie's motor and plastic.

Got the project kicked off last night.

I love doing this stuff!

I gotta say that i would not have attempted any of Greenie or Rust Bucket Roller, without the constant tech advice and encouragement of Larry Forstall, Osti 33, Steve Knecum, Bill Warner, Fred Vance, TrickTom, Speedninja, Jim Gilnack, Tim Chin, JohnnyCheese, Don Davila, and many others :tu: :thumb: :tu: :thumb: :tu: :thumb:

I am sorry Mr.'trophy but the term Rust Bucket can only be used by those above the Mason-Dixon line with a foot of snow on the ground and a garage temp below 40 . That chassis (and garage) are way too clean. Looks like an alternate class pavement bike to me. I will start looking for a suitable frame. Criteria includes: bolts so rusted it takes a jack handle to break them loose, a wiring harness with all the black wires turned green, front forks that don't turn, and a throttle that is stuck wide open. Betcha can't wait to join the fun. The only place where at 65 they call you kid.  :D   LSL
All motor all the time and a turbo now and then.

Fred,
i'll be running Q16, is that gas or fuel???
BTW:  you are correct that i don't yet qualify for full ss benefits, so i have some questions.
Do they reimburse you for your substantial geritol, Viagra, and depends needs?
I betcha those depends came in handy last summer when you went horizontal at Bonneville, yes? :hys:

Larry,
i worked on those pieces, gottem shining as much as i could.  sometimes you get lucky with cheap parts.
You guys in Philly/S Jersey area have just been hammered this year

hey Harry,
been a while since you visited my garage, when are you gonna pop by again?
Any chance of seeing you at the Texas Mile?
Maybe road trip to  Loring in July?  Barack called me this afternoon, said he & Michelle were planning on it, so you should come also, i know you guys are close.

 :hys:

Yes it does. I grabbed one of mine out of the garage the other day and it started to crumble apart in my hands. Keep in mind this is after cleaning off all the salt I could get out of it. I tossed it in the dumpster. The salt claims another part...
