Yes it has a quick access cover, I had planned on putting a lock up on it but was getting such good 60fts I said why mess with what works, it does have an air shifter at 6'2 its almost impossible to foot shift a bike with cut rails, as far as gearing I'll just say it has a 17 on the front the rest is top secret :D

On a side note my new best on this bike is 8.91 at 151 on the dope with a 28 jet in the nitrous system, should fly when I put valve springs, cams and a nitrous controller on it, its just on a wot switch right now.

what did you 1/8 mph?
In the begining I wanted 140's in the 1/4...
never thought it would go 140's in the 1/8

Thanks Tom the SG 03 is one of my favorites too, although I miss the blk/org 08 really loved that color set

What happened to the org/blk bike?

before cut frame rails , stock motor brocks sidewinder, pcV 69in wheelbase, best so far 9.17 at 147mph

What is the new pb on motor? Do you regear for nitrous?

5.70 at 124 in the 1/8

Damn thats moving out!!!!!  Do you leave on the dope?

I must have got on the dope really really late in the run. I was averaging 116.5-117.1 on motor and a whoping 118-119 on dope. Hopefully my new toy will help a brother out!!

Im stoked to see what the SG does with the new top end.

The blk/org got totaled in jan of 09 a guy jumped in my lane and hit me head on, my pb on motor is 9.08 at 147 back in feb of 2011, I havent re geared yet but I need to go a couple of teeth taller on the rear.   I run 17-42 on the 05 and have been 161 and some change in the 1/4 on it. Yes I leave on the dope its on a wot switch, I have  schnitz 2 dial on the 05 I'll be moving to the 09 when I get the NMS-1000 also.

On the gear like going from a 44 to a 42, and ya thats why I dont ride on the street any more since the last accident, the Humidity here is the worst even though SAR is at 600ft above sea level the density altitude is usually between 2800 and 3200ft , we only get magic air dec-early march when the  bikes run hard on the motor!   The 05 currently has a 2 dial that I will be moving to the 09 when I get a NMS-1000

On the gear like going from a 44 to a 42,

That would be going down in gear correct? like going from a 4:56 to a 4:10?

I get alittle confused with some of the gearing on bikes. I know stock is 17/40 and going to a 16-42 is like 2.56 to 3.73's. Where I get lost is like 18/50 or 17/44. I can only assume its just different gear changes to put the motor at a certain rpm going through the traps

I noticed the cooler its getting SAR is dead!! And the track is slick!!

There is a gearing chart on schnitz tech section at their web site that you can figure the final drive ratio, since this fri got rained out I plan on being there next fri at sar.  The 05 had a 1397 in it with the Brock's, JE 13.1 pistons stock head with a web 378 on the int and the stock int moved to the exh, it made 194 on 93 pump and somewhere between 240-250 on the dope when it went 8.60 at 161 mph, it was running 5.50' s at 132 in the 1/8.

Mainly it just takes a lot of seat time and a good clutch hand if your bike makes the hp you can do it!!!!!,     Thanks for the props...

The 05 is still apart from when a rod broke and sawed through the cases, after about 500 passes on the dope I really can't complain. Alot of people say the hp limit on stock rods is 300 hp, but I think its closer to 260 that and time 5 years of track and 3 1/2 on the street. Lets just say the new motor has carrilo h beams going in.  So I'll be on the 09 this fri.

DAMN!! where were you when it spit the rod out? Bet that was a scary ride!!

Definately a tough call on rating the power!! Being that you beat on it hard for 5 years,500 tracks passes, and I know how you street play. I could actually see 300hp being the rating. Not sure if 260hp rating and you making 240-250whp that much would last that long!!!! Remember I have seen you race many times!!! You definately keep them motors decarboned!!

Quote
Lets just say the new motor has carrilo h beams going in.

I will definately second that!!!!! Im thinking when I pull the motor this next year Im just gonna bite the bullet and do a built 1441cc all at one time!!!

Its crazy how much things have changed in the last 5 years. Got 1299cc making 1397cc numbers these days. Jason has got lance and charles bikes moving out!! With jason's cam-only setup now lances bike put down 193whp motor/255whp on dope. With the two dial jason just went 8.49@162 on it. I think lance's best is 8.61@161. Charles made 195whp on motor/263whp on dope. They have only been running 1/8 mile on his due to the trans not wanting to shift.  Its gone a best of 5.39@132. Charles is a big boy. Dont know if you remember kevin's 1397cc. That thing is a animal. Stock unported head with jason's cam setup made 219whp/123wtq and 292whp/171wtq on dope. Jason ran a 8.88@152 on motor about a week ago.

Makes me real curious and excited to see what mine will do with the carpenter head and his cam setup. Along with the controller. I like the bike being 63 inches and Im sure that will hurt me. Im thinking about pushing it to 64 which the arm is then maxed. Im wondering if the controller will let me run times the longer bikes run.

Quote
So I'll be on the 09 this fri.

Have a blast man!!! Im fending like crazy to go back. Sending my ecu off to MPS today to have them do the ECU KILL for the air shifter. Wanna get rid of my kill box.

I was at the track when it let go just past the 1000 ft mark still went 8.72 at 145 :hys:, it made a real mess took two days to get the oil and antifreeze cleaned off the bike, got lucky and kept it shiny side up, could have been bad guess I was due for some kind of luck.

Carpenter makes a killer head so yours should make some power, I think wheel base will be your limiting factor, when I bought my McIntosh 8 over I thought that would be the longest arm I would ever need WRONG, got a 12 over on the 09 I originally bought for the 05, and lets just say the 05 is even longer

I just got my crank back from having some work done, all I'm lacking is main/rod bearings and a base gasket got everything else then to send my new bodywork to my painter so end of Jan or early Feb if all goes well.  All I can say is if you like your gen I then you would love a gen II, hard to argue with 20 hp from the factory, my 08 was a blast on the street but those days are over for me strictly at the track...

I decided whatever street bike I buy will just remain stock. Quiet and nibble! I have a few friends that like to just go on rides and cruise around. I have considered a gen2 for that but to tell you the truth I would really like another bone stock 03 SG.  Like you my street days are over!! Figure a stock gen1 will be as safe as I can get.
