from what I have heard: mr12 is going to make more hp then u4.4 NA. say on a good runing gen 2 gain 3 or 4 hp on u4.4, gain 7-9hp with mr12. I can get u4.4 for $64 for a 5 gallon pail. mr12 was around $100 I believe.
mr 12 is 87 motor octane. u4.4 is 103 motor octane.
my experiance. 09 busa with gen one valves, hd valve springs, and web 395/378. I was runing premium pump with no problems and bike was runing good. i am runing around a 75hp shot of nitrous on it so I sarted runing a 50/50 mix of pump and 105 mon sunoco supreme. bike ran fine on nitrous, but lost a couple mph n/a. I started useing u4.4 and n/a it ran about the same as premium pump to maybee slightly better. talking .5 to 1 mph in the 1/4. On the nitrous I think it picked up a couple mph over the 50/50 mix.
I believe on a stock compresion engine you will not gain much with u4.4 because of the high octane. if you want maximum n/a power mr12 would be best. if you have something with very high compresion the u4.4 may work great compared to runing c12.
The u4.4 suites my needs for now. I think I will try runing premium pump and 25% q16 this year to see how that works. If it works it will be alot cheaper per gallon then strait u4.4.
