How Much Lighter with the stock size gearing is a 520 convertion?

Maybe 1 tooth  smaller in the rear "for more top speed '',but apples to apples whats the improvement?

I've Been Very Hard on Chains -{ stretching 530's on my 1000's ,and breaking 520's on my Duc's }

Is it Worth the Risk,Time,and Most of all $$$$$$$ to switch over ?

If So What is the HOT SETUP for my 06 1k ?

I could use a Fresh SETUP with my redo, but $$$ is TIGHT :td:.....

I run DID ERV3 chains and AFAM sprockets on my 520 conversion.  It's plenty strong enough for a 1000cc bike. I wouldn't use one on a Hayabusa, and it's more important to stay on top of your chain maintenance, but it's a couple of pounds less rotating weight, a pound or so less unsprung weight, and is geared optimally for my situation, which is important when you've got a 1000cc bike with adequate horsepower, but no discernable torque.

I have never had a problem using a 520 chain on liter bikes, but I haved used 530 chains on my last few bikes. I can recomend not to use aluminum sprockets tho. I have chewed them up alot. I just get steel sprockets so im not changing sprockets every season.

I run 520 chain on my 230hp LSR busa. I am not concerned with longevity, just reliability. Made a bunch of runs in the neighborhood of 230. :thumb:
