Rookie Racer project
« on: March 21, 2011, 06:10:25 PM »
Well after 7 years of owning my busa last year I decided to try my hand at drag racing. Didn't do so hot but started a bit lat in the year. Trying to get comfortable with the bike again and even though my times weren't great I got hooked. And so it began.

Lost one of the pics from when it was a stocker, all I got is a front shot.

Then I got my New Image seat and failed at gutting the exhaust for more sound.

Than later in the year I added a Cycle Tek air shifter, full exhaust, and lowered the bike.

Only got to make 4 passes on the air shifter so didn't get to feel it out much. But I know I love it.

Ended my year early and took almost a nice picture cept for my finger of my favorite straight road.

But spring is here and I'm so ready.

Only a little more progress. Bike is back together for the most part. Have it at only 4" over atm chain wasnt long enough for 6, got my new chain for 6 over today.. Only rough fit of the new tail. Going to look sick once I get it all setup and painted.

Also finally got my stuff from Clear alternatives, clear blinkers and integrated turns and brake light. Looks very sharp cant wait to get it all on.

Hopefully can ride it this weekend!

just a bit more progress. Weather has made for some big setbacks. But soon shall be done. Race time in 2 weeks I hope.

Tail almost completely fitted, going slow and making sure it fits rights. Measure 10 times cut once haha.
Clear tail light and turns installed as well as mirror blockoffs. Cant wait to finish!

thanks, just need a fresh coat of paint all around. Thinking of changing the decals to the flat gold as well. I like the way its turned out so far. Only got to make one set of passes on her this year though sadly.

if my bike had the black frame i would have jumped on your copper parts you had for sale earlier. Love that color

oh and lowering strap just kinda wrapped around neck for the moment, noticed while changing front tire that the lowering strap had a tear just about half way through   :td:

So ordering a new strap, not sure what would happen if it broke while riding but im sure it wouldn't be to fun.

A pic of the gauges lit up. Love the look and visibility at night over the stock look.
