zx14 with stock pistons and cams makes 211 hp....
« on: May 25, 2011, 12:55:03 PM »
Just thought you guys might like to see this.  Heres an example of what a zx14 motor can do with all factory parts in it.  It has stock pistons, crank, rods, cams, valves, springs, etc. in it.  It does have our 47mm throttle bodies and our latest version of our Super Sport head on it with degreed cams.

This was dynoed before and after on the same dyno with mr12 fuel.

Bryan snyder built the engine and it was run on Brocks dyno.

This super sport head and 47mm throttle body package is $1,030ready to bolt on.

So to compare apples to apples one would have to tune to your same a/f..correct?

The ss legal head is $500.  Optional hand blending the valve bowls is $120 but thats not SS legal.

The TB's are $530 on exchange.

JC,  I'd imagine its a brocks S-meg?  not sure thou.

Steve,  I'm not sure where those guys left off tuning the bike.  I dont think there done dynoing it yet.
I'd imagine they will play with the timing and set the a/f to high 12's.

I find the most remarkable thing is that its still climbing to the rev limiter. It doesnt really drop off, perfect for LSR racing.

Did the 165hp run have stock exhaust on it ? Trying to figure out how much was picked up vs another effort early on when the 14 was released, since it was the same dyno.

I believe the first test was a stock bike as it rolled in the door.  I'd have to ask Brian Snyder at Quantam Motorsports about that.

Edit

HP costs but here, i think the price is reasonable.

I'm thinking TB/Head kit on a road bike/soft bags - pump gas.

Can you put a streeter valve margin on it?

Yes we can reduce the milling, the valvejob actually cools the exhaust valves better.  we increase the heat transfer to the seat on the exhaust side.
