been going for a few rides with mine and watching the
oil pressure logs.from what the logs show me,theres
more in matching bearing clearances with hot oil
viscosity.i can easily get 115psi with the stock oil pump gear and
5w/40 oil but if it wheelspins or you have to chop the throttle the oil pressure
can drop to 55-60psi as the motor unloads.im
tending to believe that a tighter main bearing clearance will
lessen the drop in oil pressure when a motor unloads as opposed to just
upping the oil pressure and flow,i would expect with the same clearances and more
pressure and flow the same would occur but at a higher pressure.ideally
a stable oil pressure with a loaded or unloaded motor
would be ideal.
