i think and obvious point has been missed here.regardless
of what a dyno says, you dont ride it standing still.if
a pipe made exactly the same power and weigh 35lbs
less, thats effectively adding 5ft/lbs of torque
everywhere to the bikes power.thats like dropping
a tooth in the front sprocket,thats significant.normally a breathing
mod will lose somewhere but gain elsewhere, bigger primaries
tend to hurt part throttle torque compared to stock headers but although you often
ride from 2-50% throttle position, your dyno sheet
shows at 100% throttle, everything is rosy.timing and fuel trimming
can help but a smaller pipe will always scavenge
better at lower throttle percentages and or rpms, than
a larger pipe.

Glenn makes perfect sense.  My bike response is awesome in the first 1/2 throttle.............and it actually accelerates a bit better, particularly in the higher gears, if I roll the throttle on rather than just whackin' it wide open between 1/2 and full throttle.

Agreed,Like I said before the weight loss of the heavy exhaust offsets the slight loss of power with an aftermarket exhaust on the bottom end,I for one use more like 50 to 100% throttle openings when I hit back roads but I've come to realize most people don't ride like me,so I really enjoy the mid-range to peak power gain.

Sorry Guys I couldn't help this, the very best exhaust system for any Busa is your Turbos dump pipe sticking out the side panel :tu:
The older you get do you notice you start chickening out way before the bike does

Not if your a Knee Dragger you'll end up dead!! lol......  I do like that exhaust system with the turbo, that kind of power is addicting and fun as all hell to drive, just not for cornering.

I have to agree, dump pipe with that "high pitch spinning noise" is hard to beat.

This is NOT my bike, but the cannon looks good on it, like crawler said different strokes for different folks.

Been searchin' my ass off for an exhaust for a new 2011 i hope to pick up in a couple weeks and really like the styling/sound of the Cannon.IMO,the Brocks Short Meg/Alien Head are too stubby and don't look right, and most everything else looks too big and clunky/tail heavy.I know Brocks come with close on maps, and all of these good exhaust systems are probably within a couple hp of each other so i'm leaning towards this Tsukigi Cannon.Anybody running them have any tuning issues(Crawler?).I've tried the Tsukigi website and it appears to be kinda fucked up,only showing partial graphs/photos,etc.Anybody with more info./dealers,etc. please post up.

That Tsukigi looks like something I could make in my garage, must be like when a couple has a baby they alway's think thier baby is the cutest thing ever even though everyone else thinks it's butt ugly. Just kidding, lol, like you said everyone likes a different style,I'm just not a fan of the shorty look on the busa myself. Any good quality exhaust system will make close to the same power,it's all in the tuning anyway, The Akro put up 187hp and 107ftlbs of torque on a hot day so that's on par with what most systems are going to make with a good tune and the Akro has a nice deep tone to it.

Akro is a nice system. No doubt about that.  Again, we all have our preference.

The Cannon is the only exhaust that appears to flow and follow the curved lines of the Gen II tail section, everything else looks like an afterthought.

For the street I have to recommend the vance and hines vs one dual. less weight good gains keep the duals and lose 32 pounds. made 186hp and 111 pounds torque and pick up good hp in the range. no tuner bmc filter and full exxhaust with o2 hooked up. strange but it works

gen2 ti force is sumo sized and too big really for a gen2 under 4500rpm,they make great topend hp though and are a
great pipe for 1441-1507 street bikes.

Does everyone that replied in this post still have their Busa? Did you change opinion about your pipe of choice? Move on to another bike? I sold my 08 busa and stopped street riding for  a few years and focusing mainly on track days and did some road racing, it's been fun as hell and a great learning experience. Things usually come full circle though as I just picked up another 09 busa to do some street riding again and it has a Brocks shorty alien head, which is obnoxiously loud...lol... One thing I do love about this pipe is passing Harley riders with their loud pipes and scaring shit out of them, quite immature but funny as hell!! Overall though it's just too loud for me so I'm selling it and putting on a Yosh R77 race, same power less DB....lol. I actually came across this old post while researching exhaust systems...lol. Hope your all still riding and doing well!

Good to hear Jeff! Have you had your hearing checked since you installed that Alien Head....lol. I really like the looks of it on the silver/gray 09 I picked up earlier this year and I think it sounds mean as hell, just over the top loud. I'm getting old.......haha
