Thanks. Im looking at a kit online that has 46 rear and 18 front with .140 gold chain and rear extensions. What will this do for my bike?

What would be best to change over to that will boost my pull but still allow me to hit 185?

Well I'm not sure what the best setup is as there are way too many variables.  For me I run 16/43 from the stock 18/43 and since I weigh around 235 suited up this helps me get out of the hole better and I am getting around 142mph at the end of the quarter mile.

Going up 3 on rear is about the same as going -1 on the front.  You will be able to get out of the hole quicker and should be able to improve 60' time.  If this is a stock wheel base bike you may want to expirement with the launching rpm as the bike will wheelie alot easier

On my Gen 1 with the Ultra Kit we ran a 19/39.  The stock gearing on my Gen II feels very tall.  I have been contemplating 1 more tooth in the rear.  I seldom use 5th and almost never use 6th.  I mean 4th gear is easily good for about 145 or so.  It just feels tall to me.

Would that not be the same as dropping one tooth in the rear?

That's it...........I am dumping this 43 and goin' with a 45.   I bought a 6 gear bike and I wanna use 'em all.  These Gen IIs are geared too tall, IMO.

If I remember correctly, GEN2's are geared shorter than GEN1's

How can that be when I can pull and indicated 150 in 4th and 177 in 5th?...........that makes 6th useless, IMO.

I just put a 42t on the rear of my 08. Same performance and really smoothed it out at 80 mph. :tu:

I just put a 45 on my 09 and I am loving it................the transmission if far more "user friendly" now.  5th and 6th are now gears I can use.  Two teeth up and did not have to break the chain.

I can now say without any doubt that there is not a single 1967 stock VW Beetle that can touch me.   :hys: :hys: :hys: :bike: :tu:

If any of you guys have a stock Gen II............put a 45 on the rear and dump the 43  :bike: :tu: you will have more fun and turn better times at the track if ya race.  It is perfect for that bike.  Stock is too tall.  IMO.
