If any of you guys have a stock Gen II............put a 45 on the rear and dump the 43  :bike: :tu: you will have more fun and turn better times at the track if ya race.  It is perfect for that bike.  Stock is too tall.  IMO.

What do you have on the front sprocket?

Stock - 18  The additional two teeth on the rear change the ratio from 2.34 to 1 to 2.5 to 1............try it, spin that tach, eat up that road!!!   :thumb: :thumb:

The reason I asked is because I went with 17/45 but I haven't had a chance to try it out. I do alot of racing.

You are already running a 2.65 gear ratio......you are lower than me because 1 tooth in the front is like 3+ teeth in the back.  Your bike must fly.   :thumb:

2.65 to one ratio......................very quick but top end might be a little lower.  But who cares? You can go from zero to 150 deep into the 9's in the quarter.

I'm at 16/43 (stock rear, -2 front).
I had run about 4000 miles since new on a -1 front and it made a big difference and is well worth it.  It was a bit of a wheelie monster in lower gears though (all stock powerwise).
I lowered and stretched it (8" extension) when I put in the 16tooth and it never wheelies now.

I would do a -1 front or +3 rear, but not anything more without a stretch, if you want to use the power well.   Also, definitely don't do more than my gearing.  I'm pretty buzzy/high rpm for street use and still spin the tire at the track in first.

For what its worth...   :bike:
2009 Black Busa, +8", lowered, Akro Full exhaust, PC5, custom tune, short geared, etc...
2008 Custom RCC Turbo Busa (SOLD)
2005 Red/Black  Stock  (SOLD).
2013 BMW X1:  Dinan tuned (DD Cage)

was 18 f -45 r ran  9.02 in the1\4 at 148 mph -  5.80's at 120 mph in the 1\8   with a 6 inch stretch on a shinko 003 u-soft at 20psi- - - changed the combo to 10-12 stretch ,shinko hook-up at 12 psi -17 f- 46 r .runs 1\10 faster 60 ft 5.70's in the 1\8.with a better rider it would run better.it is a stock motor mapped for true pump gas and i still ride on the streets when i have the time.also changed from a ti-m-4 full exh system to a sidewinder.hope to run more 1\4 track next year time permitting .
