Fred is purely KICKING ASS!!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

rest of us are having issues.

Guppy got a new motor,

Nekkid Osti has traction problems,

I am having bad handling problems over 150, big rear end oscillations.
Yesterday i picked up a new arm from Scott Horner in SLC, maybe that will help.
To be continued  :D

Thanks for the update Karl, sorry to hear about the gremlins, I was wondering what was up with TFA.

Scott is good people, hope it helps.

It's hard to believe that Fred has managed to set NINE 1350cc SCTA records - Production, M naked gas, M naked fuel, A naked gas, A naked fuel, MPS gas, MPS fuel, APS gas, & APS fuel.

Johhny, is he running on Cheese only? No spray or alcohol?  This would be even more impressive.

Ryan's bike is not running good, shooting ducks on the last run. He is done. Mark Deluca ran 227 at the 2 1/4, 218 at the 3, 217 at the 4. Had a bad crosswind and had to pedal it. tne rear tire chunked, but they had a new tire. Qualified on a 217 record. Will do record run in the morning.
No spray, no alcohol. I ran VP Q16 this week. All motor all the time.
Mike Brakel qualified his Knecom motored 1650 mps/g at 216+ on a 215 record. It was his first or second full bore run. excellent. I asked him if he was on a Sunday cruise,he short shifted every gear a lot. He is really going to be fast when he gets used to the salt.

RustBucketRoller went in the trailer and ain't coming out
Yesterday we shotted up the arm i got from Scott Horner, R&R'd the existing one, waited 3hrs in lane and ran it.

At 150 it seemed better, but nope, tail oscillations still there, got out of it at 170, had a VERY, VERY exciting ride back to 80mph when the oscillations stopped.
I'm just happy i didn't go down, was thinking "I hope it's a lowside" at one point...

Weird, front stable as can be, but tail wagging back and forth fast, not little puppy tail type wags, big happy Labrador type wags.

Took it back to 120 and had a nice mile long salt cruise to the turnout.

Go figure.

i'm done

We changed r wheel/tire, spkt carrier, swing arm.
Put stock dog bones on, front height just a lil dropped.
Checked steering head & f wheel, all tight and smooth.
String checked front/wheel alignment = perfect.
If anyone has a clue please give me a hint.

That sucks Karl, sorry. Glad you kept it on 2 wheels though, nice riding.

I have no idea, this seems to be one of the mysteries of LSR chassis. Scott's H2 has a pretty consistent oscillation, and Joe Amo has been struggling with something that sounds a lot like what you describe. I know you checked wheel alignment, but maybe the frame or fork is tweaked. Was there any relationship to the wind? Bodywork straight? Maybe strip off the bodywork and give it a shot. I'm sure you've thought of all these things already.

I hate to hear you didn't get a chance to air it out knowing that it will run big numbers but you are a smart man Karl........live to race another day!

Good luck on finding the problem, wish I could help but I'm sure there is some smart folks who will help you solve the issue.

Sorry to hear Ryan was having problems too. Sounds like Fred is doing great, congratulations!!

JC,
Thanks for the suggestion, but the handling was so evil, I wouldn't want to risk anyone else's well being.

If anyone is going to crash that bike, I want the honors! :hys:

Issues always stink, but I am sure you are still having a good time.
I know how it is (not LSR, but in dragracing).
I just plain like being involved. If performance happens, it happens, but the whole experience is why I stick with it.
Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

Still love being here, and hope to learn a lot more for the problems .
Rainout kept Kim from getting her return run, and the other 3 in impound, Dissapointing but there is always next year
Now hanging around to support Richard Assen at the Cook event for a couple of days before we have to get home.

I gotta thank Team Australkiwi for inviting TeamFatAss to a spaghetti-whiskey fest at Carmen's. :thumb:

You guys and Kim sure made us feel welcome, we had a ball.
Too damn bad we left early but our 2am departure time  made having yet another "just one more" not a good idea.

Kim sure seemed pumped about being in impound; damn shame the weather didn't cooperate.

Good luck to Richard at the Cook event!
