There are a lot of places you can go- I don't think there is a wrong answer here.

Dave Hodges has always done a good job for me and others here too:

How much do you weigh?

Stock-ish weight Hayabusa?

Im 220 pounds. I have gsxr 1000 forks on my busa and I noticed a fork seal leaking the other day, So while they r apart i might as well upgrade. Thanks for the replies also.

So looks like you're gonna need about a 1.1 kilo or so.  FWIW, it's perfectly acceptable to run a 1.1 in one leg and a 1.2 in the other, for a combined spring rate of 1.15 kilos.

I figured somewhere around the 1.2 k mark. I never replaced the springs in a set of forks before, but from what Ive been reading is that the wieght of a busa is alot for for standard fork spring rates when ridden hard.

You are correct.

You'll be surprised at the difference.  I don't know what springs your 1000 forks have in them now, but with the stock .85 kilo springs in the Hayabusa forks, you get used to riding with the front end under-sprung, and so you get used to not being able to brake that hard without bottoming out the front.  You get used to subconsciously using the throttle to hold the front end up in corners.  You get used to the harsh ride caused by the front end bottoming out everywhere.  It just sucks.  Afterwards, you feel like you're free, from having to ride around all the limitations caused by the wimpy stock fork springs.  And the stiffer springs actually make it ride softer, because it's not bottoming out any more.

And it quite literally is life-and-death stuff.  The stock springs hinder braking so much that it is quite possible to low-side the bike in a straight line if you upgrade the front brake pads without upgrading the fork springs.

The reason I went with the 1000 forks was for a cheap upgrade all around. From what I found, the 06 gsxr 1000 fork spring rate is .95 kilo which is alot better then .83     plus they have radial mounted brake calipers.
