What gives with the rear wheel ?
« on: November 01, 2011, 11:22:59 AM »
Just fooling around with the throttle on an 04 in first gear accelerating to half throttle than backing off completely and doing it again and again and every time I did it it felt like I was on gravel and the rear end was sliding out to the left.  (Just doing it for the fun of the rush in first gear and not having to go over the 45 m.p.h. speed limit on my street.)  Used to have an 04 GSX-R 1000, did the same thing a hundred times and it was as solid as a rock.  What gives with the loosey-goosey Busa rear end ?  Thanks!

could be the tire locking up and the chain slapping

Sounds like the tire is breaking loose. If that's what you're describing, was the tire hot ? air pressure right ? any mods ? what kind of tire ? 4K up these bikes are monsters out the crate.

Air pressure and cush drive first, then bearings.

Thanks to you all !!!!!!

Turns out the tire pressure front and rear was 30.  Supposed to be 42.  It had been 6 months since I filled it up = shame on me !!!

It looked okay but the guage said not.

Too cold and snowy here in Colorado to take it out today but as soon as it warms up I am outta here.

THANKS AGAIN !!!!!!

i would check the rest of the stuff regardless.

unless that tire is junk, and the road is messed up. i doubt the air pressure was the issue.

Thanks !!!

I haven't tried it yet but I also didn't think a little low air pressure would make it so squirreley.  I'll try it out on Sunday and get back to you.

THANKS AGAIN !!!!!
