big wet shot with 07 busa tank ?????
« on: January 16, 2012, 11:20:13 PM »
i have a gen 1 witch im puting a big wet shot on, my question is where can i get fuel from for the nos pump.
i have an 07 gas tank with an internal walbro pump. i know on the 99-2000 tank you can t off of the line but this tank you cant because of the fuel pump pressure. was thinking of drilling a hole in bottom of tank and taping in from there.
have any of you guys done this before or have a better idea ??? thanks for any help.

I would come off the fuel rail, then ad a fuel regulator in the line between the fuel rail and the nos fuel pump

Drilled and welded a bung added a Pingle petcock and a NOS fuel pump.

Is taping the rail such a good idea?  Aren't you restricted by the intank fuel pump and or the size of the fuel lines???

I could not find a regulator that would go that low unless he is using jet for higher pressure say around 45 psi hard to tune like that also.

Pretty much any carb regulator should work.

Any day on a motorcycle like this that ends just needing parts and labor is a good day.

A carb regulator wont stay close all the way  it cause the pressure to rise well above the 7psi u are looking for :tu: from what i have seen

What regulator were you using? Was it something branded or a chinese knockoff?

if you guys are trying to regulate nx fuel pressure off of the main fuel rail that is a bad idea. You cant regulate fuel that has already been regultated. You should use a different feed line from the tank to the nitrous fuel pump and regulator. you must use two seprate bungs off of the fuel tank for proper fuel pressure to be maintained to both pumps.

No, not quite.
You can definetly regulate pressure that in already being regulated, but only lower and you can't provide more pressure or flow then the mother line. WE do it all the time for control pneumatics. ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!
