Crank with damaged journal; boat anchor or strokeable?
«

I have a crank with some dings on the #3 journal after loosing a rod (also rod 2&4 got warm). I dont understand the process of what they do when they "weld up" a crank to stroke it.
I was considering getting a weld up crank to do a 1535cc motor.
Would this crank be a good candidate to have stroked or should I start with an undamaged unit.
Thanks~

Yes it is good, as long as all of the mains are in good condition and the spline is not twisted or bent too bad.
