Turbusa II (Jailer's Old Bike) Having Issues
« on: February 29, 2012, 10:19:42 AM »
I kept blowing turn signal fuses and losing all my gages..........3 times.   We found the horn wire/plug (bike has no horn) shorted to ground

on the exhaust manifold and fixed that.  Now, with the key in the "On" position, the plenum fills up with fuel.  What is up with that?  Why

would the secondary ECU think the bike was running when it is not?/ i.e. when the key is turned on?

Is your mechanic at a dead-end, too?  :bah:

Is this your little neighbour kid that mows your lawn doing the work again? I told you about him.  :bah:

Seriously though, maybe you are looking on the wrong end of the bike. Have you looked at the controller's to see if they are faulty. Electrical is funny, you may see the problem present itself one place and the problem is totally somewhere else. Set everything back to the way you had it and go the back of the bike. Kind of hard not being there.  :?

Don't know what secondary fuel control you have but when I had a MT-2 on mine if I had any values in the vac to 0psi boost it would do exactly that.
All 4 secondaries would be open and fill the plenum during pump cycle.
Secondaries earthed thru damaged wiring too??

Dude, Check the continuity of the Run/OFF swtich and the starter switch. SOunds to me that if the bike is fueling without the switch on then there is a problem with the switch.

I know there have been supporting arguments to both sides, but a lot used to say never "kill" the engine by way of the 'on/off' switch. They are/have been notorious for shorting out.

ALWAYS KILL by way of the key!

Yes,I had a problem for a while where the bike would cut out in the  middle of a pass for a split second then come back on. It was alot of trial and error but found out it was the kill switch.

Found the culprit!!!!  Bad fuel pump relay.  Gonna clean up the wiring harness some and will be back on the road tomorrow.  :bike: :tu:

Fresh oil/filter change with Motul 15w-50 4T Full Synthetic and new plugs while we are in there.   This motorcycle will not take 2nd place to

any turbo-VW-Bugs after tomorrow.   :hys: :hys: :hys:

Good support. Thanks, Bill. :thumb:

Glad you found the problem, Daver. Now you can get back to normal, cut back on the Zoloft. I never heard anybody cry so much in my life!

Dave,
I think you need to find a 27-33 year old stripper to give you a lap dance with a little extra rubbing and squeezing. Have her send the bill to Cookie.  :thumb:

Nothing wrong with a lap dance, but I draw the line at sex. I am still married, and I still love my wife.  She would not mind if I had a lap dance.

She is very liberal.  I fear I am beginning to fall in love with her again.............time will tell.  She is a good woman.

secondary injectors should be hot all the time and switched through the ground, check for continuity between the injector harness and the frame. If the harness unplugs into sections back to the tail section check the harness one section at a time if you find continuity on your first check with the harness all plugged together. sounds like something got pinched or rubbed through.
