« on: May 05, 2012, 12:32:06 PM »
The magazines have the hp on the new 14 from 175 to 200 - what are the stock ones really making at the tire?

188.3 hp with 163 miles - 208.6 hp with Brock pipe/MR12, Mobil 1 syn oil w/312 mies - will be testing with Guhl reflash, PC5Clutch mod.  and after market Filter soon ! Also added bolt-on extensions and +2 on the rear, not sure how it will effect it on the dyno.  5.71, 5.68, 5.66 (and a 6.06-Large wheelie) forgot to pull down the front straps  lol 175 lbs and good air so I really don't see it going much faster with me on it..

Very nice. What modifications have been done?
Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!

I tuned one last night and got very simular numbers.  This particular bike had the ECU flashed with an extended redline.  HP was flat from 10500 to 11500.  Amazing for a stock head/cam.

Wow! great numbers with those minor mods, I think my "Hayabusa" just lost an inch off the length of the wheelbase.

Sorry guys, for comparison purposes here are the SAE corrected and fully smoothed (lowest readings possible) numbers so we can compare apples to apples. For reference purposes, a stock 2012 ZX-14R made 183hp on the Champion dyno.

Unless you tune the bike better on the juice, it will self disintegrate.  AFR is awfully lean.

Thanks Ransom, however if you look closely you'll note the n2o pull is off by 10hp across the board, that's C12 at work - we never leave home without it on juice.........The tune was dyno built for the best power and engine life based on yrs of experience (we were on it for 4 hrs. in 90 degree heat!!). Dan at Champion Cycle here in Toronto www.championcycle.ca is one of North America's best ZX-14 n2o builders and 7 second pilots, check him out on the Discovery channel. Regarding the dyno A/F it's perfect for our set-up, note we got off the juice at 10,500 and the residual nitrous charge took the A/F up a bit at the terminal 11,000 rpm due to the fact that our second PC5 n2o map shuts off the richer fuel at the injectors faster than the juice can exit the system, by a split second or so - all covered by using the correct fuel.
Cheers,
Cliff

Thanks Red..........Muzzy exhaust, Dynojet PC5 with custom 'Champion Cycle' maps, Don Guhl 'flashed' ECU and pump gas, made 198hp where a stock 2012 made 183hp on the same dyno. Best numbers Dan at Champion has seen with a 'bolt-on' 2012-13 ZX-14 is 193hp, so we made 5hp more with our stuff.......On the Muzzy juice we used VP Fuel C12 (note the immediate loss of 10hp while 'on the motor' until we hit the button). I'm satisfied that we could run this 45rwhp shot all day on a 50/50 blend of pump gas and C12 and pick up a few more ponies.
Cheers,
Cliff

Once the promo stuff was all done, we hit the street in a more stealth fashion.

Hey Cliff, not to burst your bubble but Dan has only been tuning bikes for a couple of years at best, and we have had to tune most bikes that leave that shop so the customers can actually ride them, so I strongly disagree that he is one of North Americas best anything. As for being a 7 second pilot, you surely must be talking 1/8th mile, as Dan had never ridden or built a bike that has been close to a 7 second pass. I am not trying to hijack your post or discredit anyone, just passing on the cold hard facts. The discovery channel episode is great, he takes what he claims is a brand new bike, rebuilds it with an engine off ebay, then claims to have custom lowering links made for the bike, which he tries to install upside down, then moans that they will not fit and tries to grind them to get them to fit. Yep, great publicity, lol
