Scott
I consider you a friend, and as a friend, IMO you are off base with your comments on Bill.(below)
I read Bill's post about Larry to be just that:
i.e. Bill's account of his relationship with Larry and how it came about.
As such, I found it focused, informative, interesting to read.
IMO Bill had no need to give an encyclopedic accounting of his sponsors, friends who helped, etc.
It seems you, Scott, have a sensitive area here which is lost on the common guy like me.

Thank you Bill !
A very nice compliment for Larry Forstall,
and for your part of the team.
It is interesting that, while condemning others for saying too much
about themselves "on the internet," here, in one post, you have
used up more space than "the other" in this same thread, all with
a discussion about YOU.
You used the word "I" 6 times in the first two paragraphs alone.
Add in all the times you use the word “me,” and the post seems
to be all about you, and your struggles to become the top dog.
Is that self serving ?
Is that "patting yourself on the back ?"
Perhaps in a more lengthy article, you could have mentioned
Walt Kudron, who "arranged” for you to received THOUSANDS
of dollars in cash and sponsorships from the giants of the motorcycle industry.
The “team” you so desperately needed to beat accepted
generous sponsorship only from Dave Conforti at World Wide Bearings.
That team paid their own way to the track.
They paid others to build their engines.
They paid others to build turbo systems.
They bought their own parts at retail.
They bought their own tires at retail
No sponsorship other than Dave's bearings.
That team survived on their own money, their own skills, and their own dedication.
They didn't ask for "free" help.
Maybe you should have mentioned Steve Knecum, who built your engines.
Maybe you should have mentioned Richard Pepler, who built your special turbo systems.
Maybe you should have mentioned BROCK’S, who were so generous with wheels and other sponsorship.
Maybe you should have mentioned CONTINENTAL tires,
that supplied you with “special” tires,
and paid you to use your image in national magazines.
Bill: you make it sound like you are the “little guy,”
going up against the “Big guys.”
Well, America likes the underdog every time.
You ain’t the underdog any more !
