Hayabusa rake, trail, fork offset
« on: June 30, 2012, 11:32:54 AM »
I'm going over my suspension setup and I have questions I hope can be answered.  I had some unpleasant handling experiences at Wilmington (mostly wind related, I think).  I'm also trying to get more feel in the front end.
1)  The shop manual gives the rake at 24.2 degrees and the trail at 3.8".  Is this with no weight on the bike or do they use some unspecified weight?
2)  What is the stock triple clamp offset?  Without pulling everything apart it's difficult to get a good measurement.  When I squint just right I get 1.25" (31.75mm).  I've seen 31mm and 32mm on other posts.
3)  Do any of you look at swing arm angle or the difference in rear axle height to pivot point height?
4)  Any thing else I should look at?

Thanks,  Mike

Mike, with you on the bike the sa pivot should be higher than the rear axle.
