How much drag on new eb hh pads is normal?
« on: September 30, 2012, 07:17:08 PM »
Just installed a set. I have about 200 miles on them . They still drag. Is this normal?

small amount of drag is normal i would say if you spin it it should turn about a full rotation. it also depends on the wheel bearings.

Thanks for the reply. I've often wondered why our bikes don't have return springs of some sort on the brakes. Seems like a lot of unnecessary resistance. I know I've seen return spring calipers in race cars.

Cost basically and you have to continually adjust return style brakes. standard hydraulic brakes need no adjustment

Did you clean and replace the caliper seals?    If not,  well.  you should start there.

Full floating rotors will help with the resistance. More cost but still better braking

I had way too much brake fluid in the reservoir. All fixed, no drag at all now. :D
