Changing my plans all the time.

Wife let me back into the house  :thumb:

Although now racing is just going to be Bonneville and leave the bike mostly as is but foot shift and use my airshifter button for boost controll, get a lower first gear for the tranny and get a new style clutch for it.

I bought another ulta kit, 2871 and for S's & G's im going to put that on my 750 and see if I can get 350 hp's out of it...
I also got a 70" arm and a drag shock in the deal.
I'm going to see if I can try drag racing  :bike:
I still have to figer out something on the clutch but I did get a 1000 clutch modified to fit my 750.
Maybe this year?

Ok guys here is what we found. My motor is a 1340, OEM crank rods and pistons about 13-1 compression, Carpenter head and big cams. There was only about a 1hp spread with the three pipes. The ti force sumo with a six or eight inch collector was marginally the best. I am sure that with a bigger motor the sidewinders would be much better.

That's what I have seen too on my 1300 cc bike ... what about the short stacks?

Why in God's name do you think you need a lower 1st gear.
Spend that money somewhere else...

Ha ha I'm starting off like a bag of shit. Need all the help I can get.

Do you think just a MTC gen 2 is the way to go and no gear?
Maybe this year?

The MTC gen 1 or 2 would work good.  Save your money, don't get the gear.

Your first gear could not be worse than our 750 , usually takes nearly a mile to get through it , most of that creeping up to the power band
but we have no trouble getting to full speed within the next mile and a half

And how many horsepower would be in the 1340 with stock rods, crank, 13:1 pistons anyhoo? :brw:
Have a Harley, spent lots of money on it, thought I had a fast motorcycle, bought a Busa, realized all I had was a fast Harley, not a fast motorcycle!

Thanks bill
you save a lot of garage beers lol

I found a little traction controller too that well send a 12 volt signal to my ams going to try to get that to fit and work as well.

If I don't like it I can just switch it off

Hopefully this time at Bonneville it will be more about having fun then trying to get all the bugs out of a bike I haven't ridden in two years.
Maybe this year?

Fred, could you share max hp on JC's dyno?  Did the cool weather help?

BTW:
I have a brand new set of short (41mm) Aluminum stacks, part # HAY1017
made by John Hartley from Schnitz, still in the package.
They cost me $221 delivered, i'll sell em for $100 delivered.

I'm going to work on getting what I have doing what I want...  :tu:

+1 Josh.

I spent a whole bunch of time on both Greenie & Rustbucket trying to assure that all components "did what I want".

Tried to make them as predictable & reliable as possible.

Avoid irritating little surprises that send me back to the pits for lil BS stuff like shifter won't shift, logger won't log, starter won't start, wrong gearing, etc.

Make that the 1st pass off the trailer count.

and anyway, I hate wrenching at the track.

I plan to install big throttle bodies, get the AIM dash reflashed, and build an altered tail for Greenie. April will be here before I know it.

I love my gear indicator
Dean

YAY Dean!!!!!  get after it!!!

BTW I had 2 gear indicators on Greenie, AIM & Smith.
It's hell getting old :hys:

uncorrected hp was up 8hp with the cooler weather 220hp, corrected was the same 227.7. Oh yeah I love my gear indicator too :D I got tired of going for 7th gear or not going for 6th. :bah:

I have always been proud of that motor. Larry and I put our heads together to come up with the combo and I built it. Of course it helps to have JC tune it.

I get 7hp with mr12, way cheaper. :hys: On my 16-1 motor I only pick up 4hp with q16. They both have about the same hp with VP fuel

You got 7 hp??!! I tried it on a couple bikes---back to back dynos same day, and made a whopping 1 HP,and the second bike picked up nothing. Even after tweaking on both. For the money they get for that stuff I expected more.
